Teachers’ MLC Polls – Scene Reverse For TDP!

62After winning all the 3 seats in local MLC elections in Nellore, Kadapa and Kurnool districts, the ruling TDP might not have predicted to suffer a defeat in the Teachers’ MLC elections. Reportedly, TDP lost both the seats in East and West Rayalaseema. In the East Rayalaseema constituency (Chittoor, Nellore and Prakasam districts), the YSRC Party-backed Progressive Democratic Front (PDF) candidate Balasubrahmaniam defeated TDP-supported candidate Vasudeva Naidu by 3553 votes. Coming to the West Rayalaseema constituency (Anantapur, Kadapa and Kurnool districts), STU candidate Kathi Narasimha Reddy defeated sitting MLC and TDP candidate Bachala Pullaiah with a healthy majority of 3763 votes. After the results of Teachers’ MLC polls were out, the YSRC leaders rebuked the ruling party saying that TDP would have lost in local MLC elections as well if it had not deviously sketched the Cross Voting.
