Dil Raju is one of the very few producers in Tollywood who enjoys star status. For all of his production ventures, especially if it doesn’t have noted actors, his face and brand work as crowd-pullers.
The successful filmmaker who generally does everything in his capacity to promote his films was absent from the all-important audio launch event of Mani Ratnam’s new film ‘Cheliyaa’. It is known that Dil Raju is releasing this film in the Telugu states.
Raju’s presence at promotional events is essential for dubbing films but he didn’t attend the event held on Tuesday. Reportedly, Raju has not yet recovered from the loss of his wife Anitha, who succumbed to heart attack ten days ago.
Despite knowing that Raju’s absence would be conspicuous, Mani Ratnam and team went ahead with the audio launch event as the release date is just two weeks away, April 7. The team of ‘Cheliyaa’ hope that Raju will come back to normalcy at least a few days before the film’s release so that he can promote the film aggressively.
It may be recalled that ‘Vellipomake’, a small film which Raju took under his wings, was last week postponed from its scheduled March 17 release.
