This is based on the figures tabled in Rajya Sabha.

National, international events hosted by AP, temple tourism (Tirumala), new plans for better experience for tourists (at Borra Caves, Araku Valley, Rishikonda beach), increased air connectivity said to have boosted the tourism in AP by setting brand AP higher.

However, Telangana is falling short in terms of the footfalls. According to data available, there is 20 percent rise in domestic tourist arrivals in AP whereas Telangana has seen only 1 percent rise in domestic tourist arrivals. While AP has got 71 percent rise in foreign tourist arrivals, Telangana recorded 19 percent decrease in its foreign tourist arrivals.

It’s learnt that AP state government is offering reasonable packages especially focusing more on Visakhapatnam and its surroundings. Besides this, Tirumala temple continues to attrack a majority of tourists from across India.

Shocked with the figures, officials of Telangana Tourism are taking measures to increase its Tourism and revenues. They are now planning to conduct road shows across various cities in India promoting Telangana and also making plans to improve the footfalls.
