WhatsApp verifies “some” business accounts; Explore ways to grow more business

“WhatsApp is exploring ways for you to communicate with the businesses that matter to you,” the company wrote in a blog post. A statement on the WhatsApp FAQ page says, “If you see a green credential next to a contact name, it means that WhatsApp has confirmed that the phone number for this contact belongs to a company account.”

Clarifying further, WhatsApp says it will allow users to know when you are talking to a verified business account through a yellow message inside a chat. “There is no way to eliminate these chat messages,” the company added.

WABetaInfo, which is known to reveal all the latest WhatsApp features in the test, has also noted “verified business accounts” in the beta version 2.17.285 of the application. In an online shared image, WABetaInfo revealed how a WhatsApp business account will look and what all the information it displays.

According to the published image, any verified business account in WhatsApp will likely include the business address, the actual business name, the business email address and your website in the “Business Information” section.
