Sanjay Gandhi’s daughter moves to HC, seeks to stay in the film Indu Sarkaar

rajivMumbai: A woman claiming to be the biological daughter of Sanjay Gandhi, son of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, has approached the Bombay Supreme Court seeking a stay in the upcoming Madhur Bhandarkar Indu Sarkar film.

Priya Paul filed a petition in the high court on Friday seeking an address to Bhandarkar to explain what was fiction and what was done.

Bhandarkar had recently said that only 30 percent of the film “Indu Sarkar”, which is in the context of the Emergency, was factual and the rest was fictitious. The film will be released on July 28.

Paul’s request has asked the court to suspend the release of the film until Bhandarkar removes the factual part of the film.

The petition also asked the court to overrule the certificate granted to the film by the Central Film Certification Board (CBFC) until the film’s creators eliminate the factual parts.

The censorship board has granted a U / A certificate to the film after ordering 12 cuts, which has been met.

Paul’s petition was mentioned on Friday before a division bank headed by Judge Anoop Mohta, who has published it for his hearing on July 24.

Bhandarkar had recently said he would place a disclaimer on ‘Indu Sarkar’, stating that the film is mostly fictional.
