Ap Retired Engineers Association Suggestion On Godavari Water Divert To Srisailam

The Chief Ministers of Telugu Nadu have decided to move the flood waters of Godavari to the Krishna basin in vain. However, initially the two CMs decided to move Godavari waters to Srisailam over Telangana. Against this backdrop, the Association of AP Retired Engineers is not correct. The proposal to relocate Godavari to Srisailam over the Telangana Territory is not good for Andhra Pradesh in the long run.

Rayalaseema waters of the Godavari, Nellore and Prakasam districts of Andhra Pradesh to the subject taralincalane retired president of the Society of Engineers emvisvesvararavu, kesivareddi vice-president, secretary keelnarasinhamurti media said. The current AP and Telangana governments have proposed that the waters of the Krishna Basin from Godavari would be taken up by the upper states and the tribunal would not be able to cut the allocation. “The diversion of Godavari water over Telangana is not good,” he said, adding that the water should not be diluted in Krishna and diverted to Prakasam Barrage.
Godavari water is diverted to a height of 40 meters from Pollavaram and the gravity canal is to be moved from there to West Godavari and Krishnajil. They crossed the canal with the construction of an aqueduct on the Krishna river at the top of Amaravathi and then crossed the Nagarjunasagar canal at Karampudi at a height of 148 meters. The Sagar Canal was widened and the water should be diverted to the Somalis and the Akkadu Canal.

After crossing the Sagar, the proposed reservoir at Bollapalli is supposed to store 150-200 TMC of water, partly by a single canal, then into two canals and connected to Nallamalasagar, which is an integral part of the Weligonda project. This could lead to the storage of 45 TMCs … The second canal should be moved to the Banakacharal regulator over the Nallamala forests. If the 25 km tunnel is to be built along the route, the project will remain in AP territory. Its construction and management are in the hands of the AP government.
