In Visakhapatnam district, there was brutality. Superstitions have sacrificed another life. One of the most inhumane incidents in the area of Dumbriguda Mandal in Puttabandha village was witnessed in the most inhumane incident where a man with a knife was tied to a rope in the center of the village. Radhaku, daughter of Lokoyi Ramachandra, of the village, was summoned to the panchayat, alleging that Killo Jayaram (54) was abducted.
Jayaram and his family went to the panchayat in the afternoon. They returned home with no one there. Later in the evening, Jayaram was again called to the panchayat. On reaching the panchayat, Jayaram was tied up with ropes and Ramachandra’s family members attacked Loki Parashuram, Mukundu, Nandu, Mohan, Jamuna and Padma.
Jayaram tied his legs and hands and was tortured for four hours. The wife’s sister-in-law and daughter-in-law, who tried to obstruct, threatened them with death threats. Finally, in the heart of the village, sticking sticks patrolled Jayaram on the road. Jayaram’s wife and daughter said that they climbed the hilltops in fear and fled to another village overnight.
Knowing the matter, they reached the local Tahsildar village and examined the site of the incident. Police were ordered to strictly punish those responsible for the incident. The carcasses look to be punished. The case is being investigated under the direction of Arakuloya CI.
