Hyderabad, August 11: Vowing to continue the fight for his party to realize the promise of a special status to Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today called for a bandh on August 28 before the session Legislative Assembly. “While the BJP was in opposition, it cries out for a special status to Andhra Pradesh for ten years and included in its election manifesto 2014 as well,” a statement quoted Jagan Mohan Reddy YSRCP saying in a protest held by her match Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

“However, after coming to power, has changed the melody and is blaming the Finance Committee and finding reasons to evade the question of the special status while TDP has been quietly negotiating not to open cases against Chandrababu Naidu and other leaders of the serious charges they face, “he said. He lashed out at the BJP for allegedly going back on the promise to give special status to AP.

“In response to a question in the Lok Sabha by our party, the government has said that there is no proposal to scrape the special status of the northeastern states. In that case, why is the BJP in full chat high and loud according special status of Andhra Pradesh ten years to reverse its word after coming to power, “he said. AP special status allows for more share of central funds in the form of subsidies and exemptions for many taxes and duties that attract investments thus speeding up the development process, Reddy said.

“Although Chandrababu Naidu and his deputies boasted vote first for the division of the state, he does not say anything now as he is deeply involved in the case of money for votes, irregularities in Pattiseema project and contracts granting companies and people who were previously caught in their laxity and for all their nefarious activities, “he said. Affirming that the struggle will not stop the protest in New Delhi, President YSRCP gave a bandh call across the state on August 28, three days before the session of the Assembly scheduled for August 31.
