Rtc Employees Strike Continues On Fifth Day, Jac Called All Party Meeting Today

The strike by Telangana RTC workers reached its fifth day. The workers and the government did not step in. In this backdrop, workers are preparing to make the strike worse. The trade unions are preparing for future struggles as the government has not backed down on the strike, which was launched on October 5, aimed at achieving 26 demands, including the merger of the RTC.

On the second day of the strike, the workers staged a protest in front of the depots, accompanied by Batukamma Adi and Dasara day Shami Puja. They are also furious over the government’s non-payment of salaries. The all-party meeting will be held at Somajiguda Press Club under RTC JAC. JAC convenor Ashwaththamareddy said all political parties were invited for the meeting. He also urged all teachers and trade unions to attend the meeting. Several political parties, including the Congress, the BJP and the TDP have already expressed their support for the RTC workers’ strike.
The CPI, which supports the TRS in Huzurnagar, also said it fully supported the workers’ strike. The party leader said that if the chief minister did not change his stance, he would rethink the withdrawal of support in Huzurnagar. Tamemi said he had not written the contract and that the CPI will always be involved in struggles on behalf of workers and employees. Prof. Kodandaram, TDP, Rawal Chandrasekhar and CPI parties attended the all-party meeting. The trade unions, on the other hand, plan to meet the governor. The governor is awaiting an appointment.
