We have learned that the upcoming action entertainer ‘Gabbar Is Back’, Kareena Kapoor will play the wife of superstar Akshay Kumar.
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar says his next film Gabbar’s back has no similarity with Bollywood classic Sholay.

Akshay, which released the movie trailer here with his co-star Shruti Haasan, said his new film can not be called as the sequel to the Amitabh Bachchan-starring Dharmendra 1975 hit action-adventure drama.
“There are similarities between this Gabbar (Sholay) and this. And there is also a link between the two films. This is not a Sholay 2 parte” he said.

Directed by debutant Krish, the film is a remake of a Tamil film called Rammana, directed by AR Murugadoss. This shows the character of Akshay on a mission to end corruption.

Akshay, 47, said the film has used all elements of popular Bollywood villain but with a positive spin.

“In the film Sholay, Gabbar beat good people, but in this film we used all Gabbar elements but in a positive way. I’ve worked with Murugadoss (Holiday) who wrote and directed the original film Rammana. I made this film 10 years ago and felt the need to write a movie about death corruption. Corruption exists yet. I liked the way to kill corruption in the movie and agreed to do the film, “said the star.

When asked if he made any special preparation for the role, Akshay said, “was director Krish who worked very hard and I held his hand. I just followed him. I’ve always been known as an actor of directors.”

The star Rowdy Rathore said through Gabbar is Back is not trying to act sermon but trying to present their viewpoint on corruption.

“It’s a small attempt at that, I’m not here to teach. This is my point. Maybe two per cent of people have stopped giving milk to God after they saw Oh my God. So many cases of rape are happening around us. I take some self defense classes to free women. What can teach, I try to give that if you make a difference or not will come later. I do not think I’m doing something, which will make the difference . I’m doing because I feel sorry for him, “he said.

The film, produced by Viacom 18 and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, released May 1.
