Jolt To Jagan, CBI Court Denies Permission

The CBI Court has quashed the petition of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, a key accused in quid-pro-quo and DA cases, seeking permission for his absence from the investigation in order to participate in Padayatra.

Jagan had moved High Court earlier that directed Jagan Reddy to approach the CBI Court. While Jagan sought the permission to excuse him from attending personally for the investigation, CBI has argued that this would delay the investigation further. The Nampally CBI Court has agreed with the argument of the CBI. Although the inquiry on Jagan’s petition was completed last Friday, the court has given its verdict today (Monday – October 23,2017).

With the CBI court now denying special permission to Jagan abstaining from the ongoing investigation, this is seen as a major jolt to both Jagan & YSRCP.

Jagan has originally planned to start his Padayatra in October. However, he changed his plans following massive defeat in both Kakinada, Nandyal elections. Jagan has postponed the plans to November and is all set to launch Padayatra from November 2nd. However, the latest ruling of the CBI Court may further defer Jagan’s yatra.

The schedule of Padayatra is now likely to extend. Senior YSRCP leaders confirmed that Jagan would take a break from Padayatra and attend the Court for the investigation and join the yatra again.
