Infinix Note 4: A rookie hits a home run

infinixHong Kong-based smartphone maker Infini has made a strong statement in the Indian smartphone industry with the launch of an economical smartphone, Note 4. The smartphone has features that are capable of giving tough competition to others Smartphones within the same price range. However, is the phone worth paying your money for? We will find it in our review.

DESIGN

Let’s start with the first design – the smart phone is well built, with a plastic body with a shiny metallic paint on the back panel, giving it a premium look. The rear panel is removable, but the battery is not replaceable by the user. The rear panel simply opens to hold the micro SD card and two SIM cards.

On the right side of the device, you will find the power button next to the volume tilts, while the left side is completely clean. At the top there is a 3.5mm audio jack and sports background a speaker grill and charging port. The back has a camera followed by the double LED flash below. The smartphone also has a built-in fingerprint sensor on the home button.
OS

The Dual SIM compatible with LTE Infinix Note 4 runs on a custom XOS Chameleon v2.3 system wrapped around Android 7.0 Nougat. The startup screen in the user interface is basic and remains unchanged from the previous version (as seen in Note 3). However, the operating system is loaded with bloatware and users can not uninstall preloaded applications. Infinix should know that users now prefer a stock operating system over free, unwanted applications.
Although Note 4 comes preinstalled with applications that can be downloded from the Play Store, it also has Facebook outside the box. However, XOS allows users to use two Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and other applications on the same device. In short, it is similar to Parallel Space, an application that allows the cloning of applications on the same phone for dual use. Going forward, users can also customize the fingerprint sensor to protect their applications with a secure password and also move the images in the gallery simply by passing the fingerprint sensor.
