ACB names Chandrababu Naidu in Telangana chargesheet in cash for vote scam

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday named Telangana Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the chargesheet in the cash-for-vote scam, but not as a defendant. The chargesheet also referred to a telephone conversation Naidu, allegedly involving him in the scam.

Telangana MLA nominee Elvis Stephenson had filed a complaint with the ACB alleging that he was offered five million rupees rupees Telugu Desam Party MLA Revanth Reddy to vote MLC party candidate in the legislative council polls held Telangana June 1.
Subsequently, the ACB had arrested Revanth and the other two on 31 May, while they were paying an alleged bribe of Rs 50 lakh to Stephenson.
A war of words had erupted between the two states after the case of money for votes, with Naidu alleging that his phone was tapped even as a total of 87 cases were registered by police against Telangana AP CM and others. The ACB prepared based mainly on the statements of the applicant chargesheet, TRS nominee Elvis MLS Stephenson and other supporting evidence such as video footage and telephone conversations. The ACB submitted the chargesheet against the T-TDP MLA Revanth Reddy, head of the Christian Sebastian cell TDP of Revanth Uday Simha Reddy assistant bishop and mediator Mattaiah Jerusalem as A1, A2, A3 and A4, respectively, leading cash for votes scandal in which the ACB caught bribing Stephenson Revanth Reddy while Rs. 50 000 rupees to vote for the candidate of TDP MLC polls.
