Aarthi Agarwal died suddenly of a heart attack in Atlantic City, near the family home, according to his father. He starred in over 20 films that were popular in the southern part of India, where the Telegu language is spoken.

Telugu actress Arti Agarwal, whose sudden premature death in New Jersey in the US reportedly after liposuction surgery was bad, it was rejected by a Hyderabad-based plastic and cosmetic surgeon she approached, expressing their desire to undergo surgery.

The surgeon would have said the actress who would not benefit from liposuction because it barely had any fat under the skin, indicating that it was not the first time that the actress was opting to have excess fat removed through suction.

He explained that in his state, liposuction could not be done because all I had was the fat in the abdomen.

The surgeon persuaded to refrain from going ahead with the surgery then.

Apparent desperation Mrs. Agarwal to find a quick solution to excess weight is reflected in the growing trend of women eager to visit a cosmetic surgery clinic to have suctioned fat. But what if you’re not in the right hands and surgery goes wrong?

“The first principle is that liposuction should not be used as a tool for weight reduction,” said Sudhakar Prasad, a plastic surgeon at Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad.

“Surgery is for body contouring, for a shapely body. Complications arise when large amounts of fat and a lot of other issues come into play are removed.”

Dr. Prasad said it is criminal to remove more than three liters of fat through liposuction and warned doctors to be careful with patients underinformed.

He said it was difficult to say what exactly led to the death of Mrs. Agarwal, despite being told that he suffered from chronic asthma.

Fat embolism, said to be one of the fatal cases in post-liposuction, said, it is rare cases and may occur only in 1 in 10,000 cases.

“Death in the post-operative period is very rare,” said plastic surgeon based in Vijayawada K. Srikrishna.

“For Aarti Agarwal, if death occurred immediately after surgery, was to be due to fat embolism. If it happened after a week or 10 days, it could be due to infection.”

Some other cosmetic surgeons, who refused to be identified, said the lack of clear guidelines on these surgeries Medical Council of India and the Society of Plastic Surgeons’, a principal organ of the fraternity.
