7 Indian Firms affected by US Visa Policy

7-Indian-Firms-All the leading seven India-based Outsourcing Companies in the US were granted less H-1B Visas in 2016 when compared to 2015. The drop is as huge as 37 percent (5,436 approved petitions) in the case of these firms.

About 9,356 H-1B Visa Petitions granted for the Top 7 Indian Companies in 2016 contribute just 0.006 percent of labour force in US. Hardly 10,000 Indians in a country with 160 million workers…that’s how the equation has been.

H-1B Visas for TCS dropped by 56 percent from 2015 (4,674) to 2016 (2,040)

H-1B Visas for Wipro declined by 52 percent from 2015 (3,079) to 2016 (1,474)

H-1B Visas for Infosys dropped by 16 percent from 2015 (2,830) to 2016 (2,376)

People assume this decline in H-1B could be because of Trump Administration. In reality, Trump has no role to play here as H-1B Petitions for Fiscal 2016 were filed by Companies in April 2016, even before US Presidential Polls.
