At Least 8 Killed As Powerful Explosion In Maharashtra Chemical Factory

A fatal accident on Saturday morning in Maharashtra. More than 8 workers were killed in a massive explosion at a chemical factory in the Waghadi village of Sirpur Taluk in Dhule area. Eyewitnesses say the incident occurred after a series of factory cylinders exploded.

Police say the explosion occurred at the factory around 9.45am on Saturday. Upon arrival, police, rescue teams and fire crews arrived and assisted. There were about 100 workers in the factory at the time of the accident. The workers ran out as they heard the sounds of explosions.

Sirpur police say that 8 bodies have been recovered so far from the site of the incident and the death toll is rising. Tens of thousands of injured workers were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. People from nearby areas are suffering from the smoke erupting due to the explosion.
