TN strong govt, rumors are from people who envy our achievements: EPS

tcmChennai: Asserting that his government was ‘strong’, Tamil Nadu’s chief minister, K Palaniswami, said on Friday that falsehoods were being spread about his stability by those who could not “stand up” to their various achievements.

“The Tamil Nadu government is strong, the party (AIADMK) is ruling as a strong party with 122 deputies,” he said in an apparent reference to the number of lawmakers in the governing party’s Amma faction.

The government was giving several fronts and successfully carrying out several programs, he said.

The Chief Minister recalled that the government had recently explained its various achievements after completing 100 days in office.

“Measures in favor of people included revising the value of the guidelines for properties, as announced yesterday,” he told reporters here.

Those who can not bear our achievements in such a short time are spreading falsehoods, he said when asked about the stability of his government.

Palaniswami’s assertion comes amid the efforts made by AIADMK Deputy Secretary General T T V Dhinakaran to assert his position after his release on bail in a bribery case with about 25 deputies before meeting him.

Asked about a ban on the Cattle Sale Center for slaughter, the Chief Minister said that he had not yet received the full notification and would respond to the matter after receiving it.

He noted that Union Minister of the Environment Harsh Vardhan had said that the views of the opposition would be examined in the matter, which has given rise to a controversy at national level.
