Terror funding case: NIA conducts incursions into 12 locations in Kashmir

terrorNew Delhi / Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday searched a dozen places in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the terrorist financing case against separatists and others.

Officials at the central polling agency said the searches are being carried out in 12 locations in Srinagar, Baramulla and Handwara.

They said that those investigated on Wednesday have alleged links with people being investigated in this case.

The NIA had arrested seven people on July 24 in the case of alleged funding of terrorist and subversive activities in the Kashmir Valley to fuel the unrest.

Money was being raised to fund separatist and terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir, according to the ISA.

The agency stated that the defendants were waging war against the country and were involved in various offenses punishable under the Illicit Activities (Prevention) Act.

He had also alleged that the defendants were involved in creating riots through anti-India demonstrations and bandhs.
