The 27-year-old champion had split with national coach Gopichand before the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, deciding to hone his skills under Vimal Kumar in Bangalore.

Happy to be back in her hometown Hyderabad, Saina asked her friends to continue supporting her.

“I am very happy to go home and train in Hyderabad, continuing to support friends,” she wrote on Twitter.

Saina had split with Gopichand after a quarter-final exit at the 2014 World Badminton Championships in Denmark.

That was the first time the duo split up. In 2011, Saina started training with Baskar Babu but in three months returned to Gopichand, regretting his decision.

In 2012, he won the bronze medal at the London Games under the leadership of Gopichand.
