Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis Storm Into WTA Finals Last-Four Stage

Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis, the world No. 1 pair, continued their stellar show as they entered the semi-final of the year-ending WTA finals in Singapore on Friday. (Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis On Course For WTA Finals Knockouts)
The Indo-Swiss pair topped their group after defeating Hungarian-French fourth seeds Timea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic 6-4, 7-5 in their final round robin match that lasted one hour and 30 minutes. Top seeds Sania and Martina are still unbeaten in the tournament.
This year, Sania and Martina have won eight women’s doubles titles, including two Grand Slam titles at Wimbledon and the US Open, since teaming up in March.
Sania Mirza also won the women’s doubles title at the 2014 WTA Finals with Zimbabwean Cara Black.
The WTA Finals is an annual end-of-season tour championship, where the top-eight players or pairs of the year will compete against each other in two round robin groups of red and white.
Mirza and Hingis have won eight women’s doubles titles this year, including two Grand Slam titles at Wimbledon and the US Open, since joining forces in March.
