Revolver Rani Movie Review

Movie : Revolver Rani
Cast : Kangana Ranaut, Piyush Mishra, Vir Das
Producer : Raju Chadha
Director : Sai Kabir Shrivastav
Music : Sanjeev Srivastava

Story :

Revolver Rani MovieAlka Singh (Kangana Ranaut), is a leader of a political party in Chambal, and drools over the love of her life, Rohan Mehra (Vir Das), a rising star of Bollywood.

She is pitted against the opposition Tomar party headed by Udaybhan Tomar (Zakir Hussain). In order to destroy the powerful Alka completely, Tomar and gang kidnap Rohan.

Rest of the story is as to how Alka saves her love interest, and gets her power back in Chambal.

Plus Points :

Kangana Ranuat is currently at a stage of her career where she is capable of looking good in whatever she does. With her ruthless attitude, Kanagan tries to salvage the film to a bit.

kangana’s expressions and dialogue delivery has definitely improved tremendously. Vir Das is good in the role of a struggling Bollywood actor. Plot of the film looks interesting.

Piyush Mishra excels in his role and Pankaj Saraswat and Zakir Hussain have done decent jobs. A special mention goes to the anchor of a news channel, who is the only one who tickles peoples funny bones to a certain extent.

Minus Points :

Kangana has been made to look a bit more over the top with her funky clothes and weird shaped goggles. Vir Das may have been a part of the whole movie, but he has not been given much space to explore his skills.

Even though the makers were intending to make a political satire, the end product turned out to be a spoof, with rarely any funny sequences to look for.

Right from the wild intimate scenes between Kangana and Vir, the entry of random characters into the plot to a bad screenplay, the movie is too tacky and pointless.

It is a perfect example of a senseless film, that confuses the audiences right from its first scene till the end. The first half is slow paced and boring, while the second half is completely filled with illogical humor.

Technical Aspects :

After all the negativity that the movie flaunts, the icing on the cake is the involvement of too many songs. There are 12 songs in the movie, which keep coming one after another, and by the time you exit the theatres, you may not remember even one of them.

Dialogues are decent, especially the ones given to the anchor of a news show. Director Sai Kabir’s direction is a disappointment and he brings in nothing to the movie.

The worst part of the film has to be its screenplay which is extremely loose. The plot of the movie is decent, but a bad screenplay couldn’t let the plot play its role.

Editing is extremely bad as the scenes go on from one to another, without any logic or sense.
