Alcohol promotion is one thing continuously happening in Telugu films though there is a line always displayed on the bottom left of the screen that ‘alcohol consumption is unsafe’. Neither the government bans alcohol nor film stars stop endorsing it.
Recently we have seen many heroes coming up with special songs on alcohol drinking and also its side effects. Most of the times, these songs lay emphasis on side effects on the outer but deep inside they encourage drinking. We have senior hero Venkatesh coming up with Jingdi song in “Guru” that talks about alcohol. And now, this Sishya of Gopala Gopala is followed by his guru, Lord Krishna.
Yes, in Katamarayudu movie, there is this Jivvu Jivvu song that was penned by Yadagiri which explains how booze lovers would desire to sip any brand of alcohol. Of course, Pawan has earlier come up with Mandu Babulam song for Gabbar Singh and now this Jivvu Jivvu for Katamarayudu.
These songs may sound good, but surely they should not be encouraged by stars like Venky and Pawan, isn’t it?
