History:
Uma Maheshwar Rao (Nani), is about to lose his job in the United States due to his depression. The reason for his depression is love failed with Pallavi (Nivetha Thomas). She is married to Arun (Aadhi Pinisetty) and happy in her life. Upon hearing of his condition, Pallavi finds him and tries to reason with him about what happened between them and how fortunately she moved on. Without believing his words, Uma talks about her past with her.
Uma is a doctoral student in Vizag, Andhra University and Pallavi is also studying at the same university. One day, she accidentally finds him. The incident leads to another and ends up falling in love with each other. For her, Uma moves to her attic as a tenant. As Uma chooses first to build a career and then to marry, Pallavi decides to accept the proposal arranged marriage of its father with Arun.
After the flashback, Uma defies Pallavi who still loves him deeply and did not move, Pallavi in an attempt to prove he was wrong invites him to stay with his family for ten days. What happens next, you have to see it on the screen ..
Performances:
Nani as Uma Maheshwar Rao, does not try to do anything new in the movie. It’s becoming routine in the way you act in your movies. Be Gentleman, Nenu Local or Ninnu Kori, your body language does not change and even your modulation of the dialogue does not change as well. You need to try some new characterizations to get out of your routine way of expressing few emotions.
Aadhi Pinisetty could have been an asset to the film if it had been deftly used. Here, Shiva’s script does not give him any scope to emote the complex emotions that his character is willing to feel. Always, there is a silent shot of someone who thinks the camera goes away from them as if we should not feel their emotion and Aadhi does not even get silent shots in the movie.
Nivetha Thomas is an active to the movie and with her cuteness in the first hour and mature act in the second hour she wins our hearts. Heroines do not always need to be glam dolls and Nivetha shows that in this movie. Murali Sharma gets another good character and the reliable actor nails it to perfection. Pridhvi is hilarious as Love Babu and is a great replacement of Brahmanandam to Telugu cinema.
Techniques:
Gopi Sundar is a good songwriter for love stories, as he demonstrated with his brilliant score for many Malayalam films and also Telugu for Premam, Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju. For Ninnu Kori also manages to mark a soothing melodious album and his BGM is also perfect for the tone of the film. Adiga Adiga and Ninne Ne adigedi proved to be winners in the audio and in the film they also impress us.
Pravin Pudi, the publisher tries to cut the film to be in sync with the subject and the emotions, but he also fails to avoid some unnecessary elements in the second hour. The films slide down consistently and become too stale. I could have discussed that with the young director and cut the film better.
The cinematography of Karthik Ghattamaneni is good and he explored the premises in the USA very well. His camera tries to give a tone to the film and also because of him we tend to think about traveling to those areas and exploring them like him. Unfortunately, his brilliant work is not backed by writing.
Shiva Nirvana gets a great opportunity with a reliable producer and great cast, but he makes a weak film that tries to play films like Mouna Ragam, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Maa Avida Mida Ottu Mee Aavida Chala Manchidi and Kanyadam. When you are trying to write the old story in a new way, you need to explore the characters in a new dimension as well. Shiva writes regular scenes and uninteresting situations. To cover it uses comedy and we can smell away from what the next scene is and the director does exactly the same in the same way.
