Mohammad Azharuddin Elected As Hyderabad Cricket Association President With 147 Votes

Former Team Leader and Congress leader Azharuddin won the HCA (Hyderabad Cricket Association) election. It was a solid victory with 147 votes. His opponent Prakash Jain lost 73 votes while Dileep Kumar got only 3 votes. For this total of 227 votes, 223 members exercised their franchise. The HCA elections were held on Friday (September 27) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal. Former Team India cricketer VVS Laxman exercised his franchise at the last minute.

John Manoj of Azhar Panel succeeded as Vice President. Manoj won the HCA Vice President by 49 votes. After the results, the Azharuddin community gathered at the Uppal Cricket Stadium premises. Azharuddin, 56, has played 99 Tests and 334 ODIs for India.

Azharuddin’s aggressive appearance since the beginning of the presidential election has only been nominal. The remaining 5 seats had stiff competition. Prakash Chand Jain and Dilip Kumar are vying for the HCA presidency along with Azharuddin. This time, Azar tried his best to win the HCA seat anyway. His nomination was canceled in the last hours of last year.

Former President and BJP leader Vivek has tried hard for the post. However, his support for Prakash Chand Jain has been canceled. The election turned into a rush. TRS Secretary of State Chatiri Baburao Sagar Panel has emerged as the main agent of eradication of corruption.

Polling was held from 10 am to 3 pm on Friday. In the HCA elections, the representatives of 155 private clubs, 51 club clubs, nine district cricket clubs and 11 former cricketers have the right to vote. Shivlal Yadav, King of Venkatapathy, Arshad Ayoub, former MP Vivek and former MP Hanmantra Rao have exercised their franchise.
