Kate Winslet reveals she no longer gets ‘easy on the eye’ roles

Hollywood actress Kate Winslet, who will be next seen in Woody Allen’s ‘Wonder Wheel’, revealed that she is no longer being sent scripts for beautiful leading parts.

The Academy Award-winning actress, in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine, said that she no longer gets offered roles in which being “easy on the eye” is required.

She said, “I don’t mind being 42 and not 22. I’m honestly okay not being sent scripts anymore where the main requirement is to be easy on the eye. I am loving playing women who are more worn-in because of life experience. And it takes away the pressure of needing to conform, which I’ve never been very good at anyway.”

Winslet shared, “I don’t want to be a person who won an Oscar and then disappeared off the face of the Earth. I want to be the person still here acting their socks off aged 90. And you don’t get there by being complacent.”

The ‘Reader’ star also shared that she no longer feels scrutinized for her voluptuous curves but does worry about the “pressure” social media and the ever-changing rules of society will have on the younger generation.

It should be noted that Kate Winslet is generating some serious buzz for an Oscar nod for her role in ‘Wonder Wheel’, which also stars Justin Timberlake.
