Katamarayudu Made Merry on Ugadi

3After witnessing huge drops on first Monday and Tuesday, buyers of Katamarayudu had high hopes on the Ugadi festival day. And, Pawan Kalyan’s charisma has helped the film draw big numbers on the festival, giving little joy to the distributors who still are staring at hefty losses.
As per trade reports, Katamarayudu collected around Rs 4 crore share on its 6th day, thanks to Ugadi festival. The 6 days worldwide share has reportedly gone past Rs 50 crore. As there was no other notable film screening in theatres, Katamarayudu took full advantage. Buyers hope that their losses will be lessen if the film holds up at least until second Sunday.

While the beginning of summer holidays is a big advantage, the release of notable films like Venkatesh’s Guru and Puri’s ‘Rogue’ are deterrents. If Katamarayudu can sustain the onslaught of Guru, which is carrying decent reports, the collections may go well past Rs 60 crore by the end of second week.

As the worldwide theatrical rights were sold for Rs 85 crore, the buyers may still lose big chunk of their investments.
