Jio Customers Will Have To Pay 6 Paisa Per Minute For Calling Other Companies’ Customers

Reliance Jio, which claims to be the birth mother of Mukesh Ambani, has given customers a huge boost. It has announced that it will charge for voice calls. Telephone companies like Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea now have to pay charges.

Reliance Jio on Wednesday fired up all voice calls, free of charge. It claims to charge 6 paise per minute. Interconnect clarifies that it charges 6 paise as part of the Use Charge (IUC). Geo pays IUC charges to other telecommunication companies.
However, customers will be provided with additional data for a fee of 6 paise, the company said. This meant that customers did not feel the tariff increased. There are no charges from Geo to Geo, Ladlines and WhatsApp calls. These are free.

Jio customers will have to purchase additional top-up vouchers to call Airtel or Vodafone Idea numbers. They are priced at Rs 10, Rs 20, Rs 50 and Rs 100. This will have a negative impact on 35 million Jio users.
