Is there going to be a tectonic shift in caste equations in Andhra Pradesh? The closeness of Yarlagadda Lakshmiprasad with YS Jagan is leading to much speculation.
Although currently out of politics, Lakshmi Prasad remains a force to be reckoned with with his contacts across the country and his closeness to various politicians. He was close to Chandrababu for many years and was even a member of Rajya Sabha for two terms. But, for the past three years, he has been increasingly critical of Chandrababu Naidu and his government.
When AP presented the annual budget in English, he beat it and pointed out that the neighbor Telangana appeared in Telugu. It also led Chandrababu Naidu to take no interest in the Telugu struggle in Tamil Nadu against the imposition of Tamil. Curiously, he was very active when YS Jagan came to pay his last respects to film world-wide Dasari Narayana Rao and the great poet Cinare. All of these are leading to speculation that you could soon join the YSRCP.
He comes from the mighty community from which Chandrababu comes. If this happens, Chandrababu will be in big trouble.
