Indian scientist and Padma Vibhushan awarded Prof. Yash Pal dies at age 90

deadNoida: Eminent Indian scientist and Padma Vibhushan Prize Professor Yash Pal, passed away at the ripe old age of 90 today at his residence in Noida.

He was known for his contributions to the study of cosmic rays as well as being a builder of institutions.

In his last years, he has become one of the main scientists and communicators of the country.

He began his career at the Tata Institute for Fundamental Research (TIFR) and later served as chairman of the University Grants Committee from 1986 to 1991.

Pal was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2013.
