IBM India has signed an agreement with TASK (Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge) to bring the IBM Cloud experience to the engineering colleges in the State.

“Faculty and students in the colleges will get access to the IBM Cloud. It will give them an opportunity to develop their cloud skills that is in great demand in the IT industry today,” Sujiv Nair, Chief Executive Officer of TASK, has said.

“The key focus of this engagement is to make the IBM cloud available to colleges in Telangana for faculty and students to use it for their project work,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

Welcoming the Madras High Court’s recent suggestion that castration should be considered as an additional form of punishment for child rapists, the State Women’s Commission (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) today said it is “the best solution for rapists”.

“I am very happy that one of the learned judges of the Madras High Court has expressed that castration is the best solution for the rapists of minor girls. Not now, some 15 years back in several meetings I expressed the same opinion.

“Because some people say things like human rights (for culprits of such offences) but even the women and minors, they also have got human rights. These sorts of methods are deterrent punishments. So castration is the best solution for the rapists,” Tripurana Venkataratnam told reporters here.

Asked if she looks forward to the government making castration as an additional punishment, Tripurana said, “I doubt. Because you know these human rights activists say no and people like us say yes. So always a clash will be there. Let us wait and see. That’s the opinion expressed by the judge.”

A judge of the Madras High Court Justice N Kirubakaran in a recent order had said castration for child rapists would fetch “magical” results in preventing child abuse.
