HYDERABAD: A massive campaign over jobs is likely to paralyze Telangana soon again, as a new student in front is prepared against the government’s reluctance to fill the vacancies of more than one lakh.
“Several students Joint Action Committee (JAC) operating independently during movement statesman come under one umbrella, called All University ‘JAC Students, and together will launch a statewide agitation,” said former official student of Osmania University Manavata K Roy, now president of the State of Telangana JAC Student-Unemployed.
All students protesting groups have already formed a ‘JAC Unemployed’ separate. “Now, these two JAC will meet to jointly launch a concerted agitation throughout the state,” Roy said.
Backed by the Commission headed by M Kodandaram Telangana political Joint Action (TJAC), hundreds of thousands of unemployed youth and students expect their mass movement would shake the establishment.
“Our demand is the immediate issuance of the notification of recruitment. No excuses, no reasons for the delay will be accepted,” Kodandaram, TJAC chairman who led the movement for years statesman said.
Thousands of members of the new Student-Unemployed Telangana JAC have begun a march from the Kakathiya Warnagal University Osmania University in Hyderabad.
According to the department of general administration, more than 1,07,744 vacancies in all departments, with the education department need only 24,868 employees. While the police department has 15,339 vacancies, family welfare and higher education departments have 11,837 and 10,592 places respectively.
While more than 10 lakh unemployed youths aspire to positions in government, their hopes were dashed after the TRS government decided to await the report of the Committee Kamalnathan KC before taking action to fill vacancies. The term of Kamalnathan panel on the distribution of existing state employees frames between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has been extended from March 31 to October 15.
“We fight for statehood for justice, especially in terms of employment and educational opportunities. It is ironic that the TRS, which was at the forefront of the statehood movement, is reluctant to give jobs to young Telangana after coming to power” Punna said Kailash netha, president of the Telangana JAC students’. Meanwhile, the state government is saying it will wait for the distribution of employees to obtain clarity on exact vacancies in each department. “The government is willing to address the issue of unemployment. However, the recruitment process can not be taken away,” said Srinivas Goud V, TRS MLA and parliamentary secretary in charge of the affairs of employees.
The chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao Saturday said: “Over one lakh vacancies would be filled in the next two years.”
Clarify that the government was not considering filling vacancies now, President Telangana Civil Service Commission Ganta Chakrapani TOI said. “There’s no script by the government for recruitment”
Debunking the government’s position that it would wait for the report of the Committee Kamalnathan, Kodandaram said it was only a delaying tactic. “The Committee Kamalnathan just look at the distribution of state employees of pictures. It has nothing to do with positions zonal commanders, multi-zonal and district. The government should at least fill vacancies, which are more than 80,000,” said Kodandaram. He said that even state tables vacancies could be filled and were not related to the distribution of existing employees.
