Google will launch Android O the day of the total solar eclipse

androidOn the day a total solar eclipse will sweep the United States, Google will introduce the latest Android operating system, Android O, through a live streaming event in New York City at 2:40 pm ET, reads a post in An Android page.

The teaser on the page shows a running clock for the ad, along with a catchphrase: “Android Or is coming to Earth with total solar eclipse, bringing some super (sweet) new powers!”

Android will be Android from Google version 8.0 after Android Nougat. Revealed in March, the operating system is currently in its fourth developer preview, however, without a codename.

To date, Google has not officially revealed what the “O” in “Android O” represents, while many believe it could be Oreo. In fact, in a file captured by Android Police, Google accidentally revealed that the version will be called Oreo. However, it will only be confirmed on 21 August.

The latest version of Android 8.0 developer brings a lot of bug fixes and a number of improvements to improve stability.

The first version is expected to be deployed on Google devices such as Pixel and Nexus and later on another Android device, including Samsung and Nokia.
