Days after the division of JD (U) -RJD, Bihar Government will undergo cabinet rejig today

patnaPatna: Amid the ongoing political drama in Bihar, the state government cabinet is going to have a re-shuffle on Saturday.

Ministers of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) such as Mangal Pandey, Prem Kumar and Nand Kishore Yadav have been appointed to the cabinet.

16 MPs from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and 19 from Janata Dal (UK) (JD (U)) to take oath as ministers on Saturday.

On July 27, Prime Minister Nitish Kumar won the floor test with 131 votes in favor, against 108.

The Chief Minister faced the vote of confidence in the Legislative Assembly of Bihar to demonstrate his majority to form the state government.

Nitish-led JD (U) -NDA government had a support of 132 MLAs.

According to a statement issued by Raj Bhawan, Nitish had called for the support of 131 members, including the BJP, two independents and lawmakers from BJP allies Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) -Secular and Rashtriya Lok Samata (RLSP).

On Thursday, Nitish and BJP leader Sushil Modi was sworn in as Prime Minister of Bihar and Deputy Prime Minister respectively, and the former president was asked to demonstrate his majority on the floor by Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi.

Nitish, on 26 July, resigned as Prime Minister of Bihar citing political differences with former ally, Lalu Prasad Yadav led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), on charges of corruption against Tejashwi Yadav of the RJD supreme.

He, however, on Thursday, was sworn in as Prime Minister of Bihar for the sixth time, marking a historic transition from the status of a Great Alliance government to an NDA regime.
