CPM leader Team Karat attended the inauguration of the 28th Convention of the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural Workers Union and the late Guntur Bapanayya Sathajayanthi celebrations held at Chalapalli in Krishna district on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, she criticized Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy. He boasted that he had done nothing for the poor and the workers, despite the large majority of the common people. He maintained that the Pagan policy was similar to that of Modi and why he did not question the Center’s anti-people policies.

The Communist warrior who played a key role in the Bhooparattas said that the sacrifices of the late Guntur Bapanayya are very inspiring to the youth of today. There were 43 martyrs in these areas who were killed and thousands of acres of land were distributed to the poor as a result of their sacrifices. Viyamma is the first woman to die in the region. Koneru Rangarao has called for the government to implement the committee’s recommendations.

All India Workers Union General Secretary Vijayaraghavan, who attended the convention, said the country was the worst landless state in the country. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh chief ministers KCR and YS Jaganmohan Reddy accused the central government of not implementing land reforms.
