Could be conspiracy of terror: UP CM Yogi after explosives found in Assembly

madhyaLucknow: After the explosives were found at the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Thursday, Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath called for a strong security system, stating that the incident could be a “terrorist conspiracy.”

He also demanded an investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the incident.

“A strong security system should be established as it could be a terrorist conspiracy. Security guidelines should be issued and everyone should follow them,” Adityanath told a high-level meeting on Friday.

60 grams of white powder suspect was found under the headquarters of Samajwadi MLA Party Manoj Pandey during an ongoing session on Thursday, according to reports. He was later sent to the forensic laboratory for tests.

During the meeting, Adityanath said the white powder was pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN) explosives and sought action against those involved.

“Everyone needs to be cautious about security matters. Police verification should be done for workers in the assembly,” Adityanath told the Assembly on Thursday.

“PETN explosives were found, action must be taken against those involved,” he added.

Aditynath also urged officials not to compromise the security of the state and nation, especially given the current situation in the country.

He also informed members about the new security arrangements, including banning the use of mobile phones in the Assembly.
